Dr. Myrtle Edwards Gray (born in 1914) was a civic giant in her community and statewide . Dr. Gray received her education from Stillman College and Alabama State. She is revered for her successful educational career, her role as a major community servant, and her kind heart. In her hometown of Tuscaloosa , she served as an educator for 43 years as teacher, teaching principal, and Supervising Principal for Tuscaloosa City and County Schools. Also Dr. Gray was one of the founders of the Junior Cosmos Study Club, a prestigious girl organization dedicated to the same ideas upheld by Dr. Gray. She also served at the historical first African Baptist Church , YMCA Board Member, and many other community groups. Her life was dedicated to youth and women, of her community, state, and even our country.
